The department strives to provide quality education with a focus on the marketing、transportation and logistics management in the service industry. We aim to enhance collaboration between the industry and university, and to ensure our students can compete in the global job market. .
Our main education objective complies with the national economic and trade policy especially with the nation’s effort to develop into the global logistics center. Our main goal is to educate and train students so they can take on mid-level management positions in the marketing- and/or logistics-related business.
The courses focus on the marketing、logistics and business field. To meet the needs of the ocean islands economic system of Penghu County and Taiwan, the courses planning emphasizes the understanding of marketing、transportation and cold chain logistics management courses for the local、national and regional fishery and tourism/leisure industries.
The department also strive to build closer tight with industries and corporates to ensure our courses and training are both most current the relevant to today’s needs. Also, enrolled students have internship opportunities with the companies we work most closely with. Another feature that sets our department apart from others is that we incorporate a problem-based approach in courses. Students thus learn not only the critical knowledge but also problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
The graduates can choose to work in private sectors such as retail chain stores, logistics and shipping companies, airlines, forwarders, warehousing and trading companies. With training from the university, they are qualified mid-level management staff in the marketing and logistics related business, especially in the market of the Great Chinese Economic Region. They may also hold positions on government agencies such as the Ministry of Transportation and Communication, port authorities, Civil Aeronautic Administration, postal service, etc after passing required examinations.
